Oh Christmas Tree!

This Christmas season has been one of ups and downs. I have been a nervous, stressful wreck the past couple of weeks trying to finish up this semester (final projects, finals, deadlines, etc.) and preparing for next semester (my last semester!). Johnathan has been doing his online certification for technical writing and, of course, working like a mad man to provide for his tiny family (love him). However, with all of this stress and negativity there have been some happy tidings come our way. We found out a couple of weeks ago that my cousin was moving out of "the" rental house.

What is "the" rental house you may ask?

Well, I will tell you.

This house belonged to my great grandfather. He built it from the ground up and it has been around for a little under 100 years. Needless to say it is a bit rickety and not in the finest shape, but it has lots and lots of happy memories. :)
After my great grandfather passed away, my grandmother started renting his little, old house out to family members. I can't tell you how many grandchildren have rented this house, especially newlywed grandchildren!

So I guess it's my turn.

At the beginning of this Christmas season I was a little downhearted, and please let me tell you, I hate to be downhearted at Christmas time.

I was downhearted because my first year as a married woman I would not be able to enjoy the luxury of my very own Christmas tree with my husband. I would not be able to enjoy decorating the house while blasting Christmas tunes. I would not be able to enjoy baking my very own Christmas cookies. I just wouldn't be able to enjoy my first Christmas in my own place, but now I can. With Christmas almost 2 weeks away and us moving in on Saturday we finally get to start our own holiday traditions!!

Bring on the Christmas cheer!
